Use Great Talents
Every person is born with unique talents and a set of skills. They discover them in different stages of life as they gain experiences. People are often encouraged to pursue dreams and work smart to achieve their goals. The talents you have are meant to be beneficial to you as a person and make a difference in other people’s lives.
You can use your talents to inspire others through teaching and volunteering. Even if you are not qualified to teach, if you have a unique skill, there may be someone willing to learn from you. You can teach some students about the basics of practical skills and they may appreciate your efforts and remain motivated. On the other hand, you can plug into events by organizations that ask for volunteers and inspire people accordingly.
Active Listening
Anyone can hear other people’s conversations but very few can actively listen and understand the message. When engaging in active listening, establish direct eye contact with your audience as they talk about their challenges. Avoid interruptions during the conversation, smile, nod, and agree with them. When you smile and nod, you show them attention and thus encourage them to continue speaking.

Connect with people passionately, even by the way you greet them.
Offer Constructive Criticism
If you know about how someone can improve in a particular area of their lives, offer your criticism constructively. Be sensitive to their feelings and give feedback at the right time. You can use a feedback sandwich approach to give constructive criticism in the corporate environment. Feedback sandwich is regarded as a PIP (Positive-Improvement-Positive).
In this case, you begin by concentrating on your strengths and provide criticism based on what you don’t like and areas that need improvement. Then, round off feedback by considering the positive comments you gave at the beginning and the expected results of acting upon criticism.
When offering constructive criticism, you should focus on the issue at hand and not the person. Separate the issue from the person and comment on that issue. For instance, in case of an unsuccessful presentation, don’t tell the person that they are boring. Instead, talk about the positive things first and then give comments about the presentation method.
Acknowledge Other People’s Contributions
No matter how talented or wonderful you are, appreciate that other people have contributed to success in your life. Acknowledge any contribution, no matter how small and so that you are thoughtful and willing to give credit to the deserving. Effective compliment touches people’s hearts and minds, boosts confidence, and lifts their moods.
You cannot rob yourself of anything by giving sincere compliments. Instead, you become a “magnetic” leader, partner, parent, or colleague. Regardless of your position, always aim at refreshing others with sincere compliments. Your ability to compliment others and engage in active dialogue can be beneficial to them personally and professionally.
